| PrimaStasys was engaged to assist with implementation of a new wide area network to integrate all IT services across six branch offices. The new infrastructure fully replaced local stand-alone servers and was to provide centralized help-desk support and to reduce over-all IT costs by over 70%. | Head office houses the companies centralized servers. There are now 11 branch offices, each with a local file server and between 5 and 60 employees. The branch server replicate all data as it is changed to central servers using an rsync-based facility. Data that must be shared and used in high volume is replicated to the branch offices. Interoffice printing is transparent. A central LDAP directory provides single-point management of all user credentials and to control information systems access. Samba is used for file serving. Results: Cost reduction has been sustained for seven years. The company has suffered zero lost time. |
